A bandit, bait steeler that didn’t get away.

Wind lulled at noon and gave us window to visit dry dock – Cedar Key last Sunday. Captain and crew each caught Sheepshead and kept one each for dinner – released rest. Marcia Ellett displays her catch.

Let one go, let one grow.

Exploring the backwaters of Suwannee, found some dots n’ spots, good catch & release fun.

All 15 would be a new Atlantic Croaker Club Record

A windy day with slow fishing until we found the Atlantic Croaker. Kept 15, with the largest at 1.31# being more than 3 times the 40+ year old club record, caught by Elaine Turner.

Lesson learned

Pictured Jack and Melvina Cutright with a Croaker they each caught. Either one would have broken current GOFC record. Only problem, Captain Ed Ellett did not suggest a check until AFTER fish were filleted. Remember to print out club records and have handy!

Nice red

Nice 26 3/4 8 lb red

Ten Slam Award clincher for Marcia

Very nice end to 2017 with Marcia catching only species she was missing for Ten Slam Award, Bluefish. A nice one by Big Bend standards!

Family Photo

Reid and Ryan doubled up on the African pompano! It was a first for both of them.

Variety Pack

Managed a great day of grouper and African Pompano in 80′ off Cedar Key.

Easy Work

Slow and cold day fishing but my 8 year old son Hank managed a 27 inch keeper Gag while fishing in 50 feet of water off Crystal River.
