Fall Tournament – Cedar Key
Per our Tournament Director the Weather Gods have smiled on us and the Tournament is a GO!
Cedar Key
A GOFC MEMBERS-ONLY TOURNAMENT — Participating anglers must be GOFC members in good standing at the time of the tournament. Guests may ride in GOFC boats, but cannot submit or share their fish. All contestants must have a valid Florida Fishing License and may fish anywhere in the Club waters as long as the fish are brought to the weigh-in on time. Please check to see any new regulations for target species.
Interpretation of the tournament rules shall be at the sole discretion of the Tournament Chairman.
SIGN UP:
Prior to start, the Tournament Committee must be provided with boat name, size and make, captain’s name and name of all anglers (and any guests) on board, indicating if any lady or youth anglers on board are participating. Sign up online in advance (by 6:00 pm the evening before the tournament.)
START:
Start at “safe light” on the day of tournament from any Club waters port. GOFC communications are on VHF channel 68. Safe light is 7:15 AM. Boaters should exercise caution if low light or fog limits visibility.
WEIGH-IN:
Weigh-in will take place at Robinson Seafood at 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Members with all fish to be weighed must be in line at the scales no later than 6:00 PM. Scales will open at 5:00 PM. Winners will be announced at next meeting.
AWARDS/PRIZES:
Prizes will be awarded to GOFC members based on weight for each of Club’s 10 target species – Spotted Sea Trout, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Redfish, Sheepshead, Grouper, Cobia, Flounder, Bluefish, and Amberjack. All fish must be of legal size per Florida regulations and in-season.
-
- Master Angler = $300
- Inshore Angler = $200
- Offshore Angler = $200
- the Boat with the Most Species (the GOFC 10) = $50.
Please note that an individual angler can only win one of the 3 main prizes.
Please note that if you plan to enter an Amberjack, the Club now measures them by length so you will need a photo
that clearly shows the entire fish from nose to tail and with the tape or ruler numbers clearly visible.
FOOD/BEVERAGES:
For this Tournament, GOFC will be grilling burgers and hot dogs, and providing chips and drinks. Seating might be limited if we have to share a shelter, so bring a camp chair just in case.
WEATHER:
The GO or NO GO decision will be sent out by email and posted on this by approximately 6:00 PM on the day before the tournament.
LIABILITY:
ALL ANGLERS AND PASSENGERS SHALL PARTICIPATE AT THEIR OWN RISK AND HAVE A CURRENT WAIVER OF LIABILITY ON FILE WITH THE GOFC.
DATE/TIME:
Date(s): October 27, 2018 (the first weather date will be October 28; the alternate weather date is November 3).
Time: 7:15 AM – 6:00 PM
