Captain Danny Allen, a Cedar Key Native, owns and operates Southern Salt Charters providing fishing charters to anglers from all around. This younger brother, Capt. Nick Allen, is now guiding with Capt. Danny. They guide out of Cedar Key but also fish the surrounding waters such as Steinhatchee and Horseshoe Beach. They were raised in a commercial fishing family and owe their love for fishing to three generations of Cedar Key heritage.

The captains have appeared on national fishing shows and tournaments such as ” Sports Fishing TV, “Reel Animals” fishing show, “Hooked on Fishing” with Bill Miller, “Fishing the Nature Coast” with William Toney, and “One More Cast” with Shaw Grigsby. Southern Salt Charters also does weekly reports for fishing magazines and newspapers. Capt. Danny owns and operates the Elite Redfish Challenge, a Pro-style redfish tournament series that features our areas waters.
