Waiver of Liability:

GOFC sponsors a number of on the water activities for its members. All Club members are responsible for their safety and the safety of their vessel and passengers. An organized GOFC activity, such as a Tournament, is not an endorsement by the GOFC of safe conditions for any particular vessel. A member must determine the conditions for which his/her vessel can be operated safely and restrict his/her vessel’s use to those conditions. The GOFC also sponsors activities on shore, such as banquets. These activities are for the purpose of recreation for members. Participation by members is voluntary and shall be covered by this waiver.

Having read and understood the above information, I, for myself, my family (as recognized by the GOFC for this membership), personal representatives, heirs and executors, release and forever discharge the Gainesville Offshore Fishing Club and its Board Members and Officers, event organizers, sponsors, and other participants of all liabilities, claims, damages, costs or expenses for bodily injury, death or property damages, which I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in these GOFC activities, including but not limited to, all risks, known and unknown, without regard to whether they are inherent in participating in an on the water or on shore event. I understand that this release is an unconditional, full and general release, which includes all claims whether caused by the gross or simple negligence, action or inaction of any of the released parties. I also hereby assume responsibility for guests on my boat who are not GOFC Members when these guests are with me for a GOFC on the water event. I understand that I will provide for their safety and wellbeing during GOFC events and that the GOFC is not in any way liable for their harm or injuries.
